I have never shared my reflections of the year gone by so why this time? The year 2023 has been a very special year for me in many ways- I and my wife, Vandna completed 50 years of our marriage in February and in March our larger family celebrated completion of my 75 years with a short documentary about my life.

Professionally, I tapered down my involvement as a Board member or as an advisor to focus on my interests in reading and writing. I could revise and update my book, 'Dare to Lead' which was published by Penguin in July.

I was also privileged to receive the first Dr Pritam Singh Lifetime Leadership Achievement Award at the hands of Mr Suresh Narain, Chairman, Nestle India.

On personal front, I revived my childhood interest in music and my wife joined in this endeavour and we could record some songs. Thanks to our committed teacher, Ms Debjani Roy whose belief in us revived our passion for music and the journey continues. I could also achieve the milestone of visiting 81 countries, and I’m eagerly aiming for the century mark.

I gratefully cherish the friendship and guidance of many who have immensely contributed to my personal growth. With warmest greetings for a meaningful new year ahead.
